ipad ipod iphone

Three very different devices, yet the same in many ways.

Apple puts the i into many different things.

The ipad is just one of the most purchased new devices in history, considering the cost which is higher than you would imagine for such a limited set of features, (apple claims they are fixing that) but as we wait to see what will happen next with the ipad, lets take a look at some of the features that currently are available.

Touch, Gestures, and how to make it work.

When you using an ipad, there are many different ways to make the controls work.

With touch based interfaces it is not always clear how they work and how they should work, so you have to do some research to see what is expected, however, with hardware based gaming controls a thing of the past, it seems that we just need to find a way to adjust to the new interface.

Multi touch

Multiple touch is when more than one finger is used to begin to control a device.

Say you place one finger then a second finger close to the first, and then you pinch that will cause the interface to react to the “gesture” you just created.

It can be a little complicated and yes even confusing, but the younger generation seem to catch on just fine, so perhaps its us older folks that seems to have a hard time, you know the ones that cant use a remote control because its too complicated.

Still, you would think that eventually even us old folks could figure out all the different ways that you can touch a screen.

For example, I have a touch mouse that is sensitive, to how you touch it, I can scroll up and down, and sideways by just moving a finger across the surface.

Now that is interesting to me, but with the ipad and ipods, they are not as sensitive, and so require a little more patience.

Music and the way it works, may never be the same with all the different types of methods that you can use with these devices still no matter how you look at it, you have to be able to adapt and learn first otherwise no matter how smart these devices are we can use them if they are hard to learn how to use.

Just an observation, have a great ipad day.

Movies on the iPhone and iPad

Formatting, and viewing options are something to consider more so when you know that the more definition or resolution you have in the source video the higher size of file you will have, and space is valuable.

Do you watch movies on your ipad?  or iphone?

Getting that video to fit may be a challenge.

If you do how do you get your favorite, video or TV show…

If you are lucky enough to own an iPhone or an iPad and you have been trying to find out how to put movies on it, this article intends to help  show you the way.

The iPhone is, as it sounds, basically an iPod mixed with the latest cellphone technology.

One of the more interesting things about this technology is that you can browse the internet, make phone calls, and store or play multimedia files all from one small handset.

There is obviously a lot that the iPhone can do alongside play movies, but the movie playing side of things looks a dead cert to be on of the most popular aspects.

With an iPhone, you can show movies that have come either from a DVD or straight from the internet. Obviously, a DVD won’t fit into your iPhone, so you’ll first need to get the movie onto a computer, and you should then be able to transfer the files to your iPhone. In order to get a DVD saved on your computer in the required format, you’ll need some “ripping” software, which is capable of ripping the files into MP4 format, which is what the iPhone uses.

The other side of the coin is when you are trying to get movies on your iPhone when you don’t actually own them on DVD. This answer is one of the most sought after amongst iPhone owners, and once you know it you will probably be the envy of many of your friends.

Many people simply download the movies from torrent or peer to peer sites, which is of course illegal, and pretty dangerous for your computer too. Ever wondered why people that download lots of stuff get viruses all the time? It’s because they use places like that. Do you really want to run the risk of killing your iPhone or computer, or worse, actually going to jail, just to download the latest Tarantino movie?

It’s simply not worth the risk.

Instead, there are some much safer alternatives springing up in the world these days. There are only a few of these sites because the iPhone is so new, and you really do need to know where they are to find them, but the way it works is that you pay a small fee and then you are given access to their download database, which is usually huge, much larger than any P2P site. Once you have access, you are then allowed to download an unlimited amount of stuff for your iPhone. It’s not limited to movies either, you could download MP3s, games, music videos, TV shows, pretty much whatever you desire. The downloads are usually pretty smooth and fast too.

Hopefully you will find this resource useful, as most people have no idea these sites exist.

iPads Will they last?

With sales mounting now more than one million units, in fact more than 2 million units sold and counting…

The idea that the iPad is still here and is not going away, is not so hard to believe.

If you listen to Steve Jobs, his new iPad will make a ding in the universe, well perhaps, eventually, all though there may be one thing that Steve forgot to mention, that was he allegedly has less than desirable people skills, (allegedly)

Putting that aside for now, at least, and the fact that Steve offended, (again allegedly) millions of developers around the world with his most recent SDK 4.o and you still have a very nice product offering, one that could very well be one of the best selling christmas items of this year and perhaps beyond, setting sales records, for the last two years, was the iPod, now we have what could be even a more popular product in the iPad, however, some have suggested that there are some issues, that perhaps the lofty mind of Steve Jobs has not considered…

Many are openly weeping about the way that the unit was designed, without a camera, but I guess that because of cost considerations, Steve wanted to have a unit that just about anyone could afford, or charge to a credit card, LOL.

Still, the app store, is another thing if you are keeping up with the latest information in many of the developer forums, there are several companies, (that have supported MAC for years and years, and with the latest license terms)

These companies that have literally supported MAC for so long now, find themselves on the outside looking in,

Now that is disturbing, knowing one company in particular, RunRev LTD, which spent literally thousands and thousands and did I say thousands, getting ready for a big product offering, for the iPad and iPhone, yet were slapped down like dogs, by the great and wonderful, OZ.

To me it appears to be a really bad, thing, bad PR, bad move all around, but the public, may not realize that all these things are going on in the background…

While the stock price may be going up for now, once all this really perverse, (again allegedly), only allegedly, we would not want the all powerful OZ, to come down and reject our app that is pending review in the app store, (it is an iPad app and it has been in review for a long long long time now.)

You just have to wonder, with only a few iPad apps out there, rumors say that the commercials are not as accurate as they might want you to believe, allegedly…

Because of the problems at the iTunes app store, huge I hear, (allegedly)

I sure hope to see some better and more friendly news from Apple soon, but in the time being, I guess I can read a book on my new iPad, if not much else…
