Three very different devices, yet the same in many ways.
Apple puts the i into many different things.
The ipad is just one of the most purchased new devices in history, considering the cost which is higher than you would imagine for such a limited set of features, (apple claims they are fixing that) but as we wait to see what will happen next with the ipad, lets take a look at some of the features that currently are available.
Touch, Gestures, and how to make it work.
When you using an ipad, there are many different ways to make the controls work.
With touch based interfaces it is not always clear how they work and how they should work, so you have to do some research to see what is expected, however, with hardware based gaming controls a thing of the past, it seems that we just need to find a way to adjust to the new interface.
Multi touch
Multiple touch is when more than one finger is used to begin to control a device.
Say you place one finger then a second finger close to the first, and then you pinch that will cause the interface to react to the “gesture” you just created.
It can be a little complicated and yes even confusing, but the younger generation seem to catch on just fine, so perhaps its us older folks that seems to have a hard time, you know the ones that cant use a remote control because its too complicated.
Still, you would think that eventually even us old folks could figure out all the different ways that you can touch a screen.
For example, I have a touch mouse that is sensitive, to how you touch it, I can scroll up and down, and sideways by just moving a finger across the surface.
Now that is interesting to me, but with the ipad and ipods, they are not as sensitive, and so require a little more patience.
Music and the way it works, may never be the same with all the different types of methods that you can use with these devices still no matter how you look at it, you have to be able to adapt and learn first otherwise no matter how smart these devices are we can use them if they are hard to learn how to use.
Just an observation, have a great ipad day.
