Key pad for the ipad

Fat finger syndrome, is causing a lot of trouble for apple…

With the most recent iOS support for additional configurations on the touch pad might finally work for the rest of us who have large hands, If you have ever tried to use an ipad for any length of time to do any serious tasks you need this.

This is a must have if you are an adult attempting to use the ipad for anything but a game.

At the time I purchased my Ipad, the 80 buck price for a keyboard, which by the way is the same price as the full size keyboard, was daunting, but now apparently, there are some nice after market and some OEM products out there that are nice and affordable, imagine that.

Perhaps you have seen the plug in key pad for the ipad and thought hmmm, you mean I can actually have a full keypad with arrow keys and all, it would almost be as productive as having a real keyboard.

And you would be Right.

While it is a little pricey, it is very nice, to have on a trip where you need to do some quick typing and your sick and tired of the touch interface which is ok if your 12, but not so much if your an actual adult.

The one thing apple needed to supply standard.

facebook games

There is a new trend these days with the iframe facebook system that allow you to quickly and easily develop and implement games on facebook, however, what about using these games on your ipad, (sorry they are flash and as every one knows,) Flash does not work on the ipad, but why is that and more importantly, if it is something that millions of users want why cant we get that?

Jail breaking your device yes or no?

Should apple get a clue about its restrictive practices in developing services for the ipad ipod, iphone marketplaces?

More users are allegedly jail breaking their devices so that they can get the features and the software that they want, is this wrong, probably, and not for the reasons you may think.

Well the debate rages on, with apple allegedly being the mean bully that appears to try to influence what apps are “right” for the hardware that apple sells to its customers, Oh wait, I thought the customer was buying the hardware, should they not decide what apps they want to put on their iphones or mobile devices?

Well I guess long as those apps are apps that apple also thinks are good enough for the hardware they sell but apparently mother over constantly.

Still one might wonder if an eventual legal battle over what is and what is not allow on hardware owned by customers, since and I repeat apple customers do spend a great deal of money to buy the hardware.

So do the customers not have any rights or any say in what they can put on the devices they buy?

Makes you think, …

Andriod leaps ahead of Apple?

Is apple making a big mistake?

In the most recent release of the ipad2, which might better be titled, a huge marketing mistake, (allegedly)

Android may have an opportunity to move ahead of the more expensive competitor, which insanely has less to offer than its cheaper, counterpart, (allegedly)

So who is right is ipad 2 a bust because of the features that most every other tablet platform do have and apple just allegedly made the decision not to offer the SD slot.

There is also the issue of Flash, which is really not a good idea at all, it is an ego issue, which is why we have elected to not renew our Apple developer agreement.

At least for the time being, until apple demonstrates that they are capable of making sane and unilateral decisions.

So, here we are almost two full years after the first version of the ipad and still there are issues that other platforms do not have.

Clearly either apple has no plans to address these issues or they just do not care.

Either way, one thing remains clear, if something does not change soon, apple will not be in the drivers seat for much longer.

iOS will it be the wave of the future or the past?

will Apple learn that in the day of this modern age, people have the right to do what they want to do, when you try to artifically restrict people to making them do what they do not want to do, then you have this…

Update, with the new Amazon App store for Andriod, could apple be facing the result of a lot of very bad business decisions?

I am attempting to decide if I want to renew membership in the iOS program mostly for two reasons, my clients are not served well by the current distribution method that apparently Apple has chosen to pursue.

The second reason is that the small business market is under served by the approval process.

I find both of these reasons to be disturbing and I would welcome the opportunity to relate to Apple that this does not have to be this way and that Apple by its chosen model of distribution is leaving a huge amount of money just sitting at the table.

For example, lets take mom and pops pizza in a mid western town of 85.000 people, 30 thousand of which use SMS and other methods of communication on smart devices, if mom and pop want an ipad app or an iphone app about their nice pizza and other special offers they might want to allow their customers to place an order through an app, how easy could that be, you get on your iphone and zap a hot pizza shows up at your door, I know I want one now.

But sadly, unless mom and pop are a larger corporation it seems that they have little chance of being approved at the Apple app store, and thus they are limited in how they can achieve their goals of growing as a business.

So what do mom and pop do?

Well they are moving toward Android, and yes I know its a bad word here, but lets have a look at it, anyway, because if we are to be grown up about business then this must be a part of the discussion, many small business owners are moving toward Android because developers are moving over to that platform simply because the market is not being served adequately by Apple.

There is a real opportunity to serve the mom and pop business ventures out there simply by adding a few categories to the App store you could provide mom and pop with a great method of distribution and attract additional developers to the platform, but so far that is not what is happening.

The developers I know are abandoning iOS in favor of platforms that are favorable to the developers clients, that is a problem and I am wondering if Apple is even aware of this problem, that is why I really do not know if I will renew, because, so far, what I see is a lot of questionable apps and a huge list of things you cant do with Apple, will things change?

Because if they do not I fear for the popularity of this platform.
