Mobile Media for Mobile Marketing

The other day I was at Walmart and I noticed something that was a little surprising, everyone was texting, texting here texting there, texting everywhere.

So is it really, the trend of the future.

In fact, there were people trying to drive their buggies around and almost running into other people, mostly because they were not paying attention to what they were doing, they were in some cases stopped in the middle of the isle and people on both sides of them were waiting to get by, finally someone had to say excuse me but you need to move out of the way, they looked up as if in a daze and was embarrassed, (as they should have been) and moved out of the way, but can you imagine trying to drive down the road, wow is all I can say.

These days just about everyone is busy texting, even while they should be driving down the road.

Getting your media act together, what you can do to ensure your success in marketing for mobile media.

There are discussions going on right now among developers about the mobile revolution, in fact it appears at least for now that mobile communications, are in fact more prevalent, than its stationary counterpart.

So with that piece of info in mind…

What will the next big thing be?

Will it be html5?  probably not.

Is this the next generation of the media, will people get their news from mobile sources rather than stationary sources like the TV, are we looking at a brave new world?

What is the number one, most used media form for mobile media?  is is Video? or is it Audio?

You might be surprised to learn that it is in fact, Audio…

Video and Audio for the on the go crowd, is very popular, but what does  this mean to you?

Mobile content, is it the hottest new trend?

Some say yes and they are working hard to get content that is both fresh and friendly to as many devices as possible.

The iPad is one of the fastest growing user groups in history, with a rumored, 3.9 million sold and counting, the number of iPad users is growing faster than they can make them.

In fact, there is an entire industry dedicated to breaking into these devices, mostly I think to thwart, Steve Jobs, because of all the really great apps that have not been approved.

Because of one thing or another, sometimes it is because of political reasons.

Other times it is for some other reason, which no one knows, so in reality the apple Steve jobs thing is just sort of back fired on little Steve, I say little because he is acting like a child.

And his company will pay the price, so who will develop the next great device that is not tied down by jobs over reaching and perhaps even illegal activity to censor developers.

You have to wonder, there are some great apps out there, but many of them are not approved by apple so if you want a good app in the future you may not be looking at the app store at all you might be looking at breaking or jailbreaking your device.

Many say that nearly 50 percent have already done it, and more plan on doing it, but it really creates the question why do it, at all?

Well for one thing, Apple is not allowing very many apps to be approved, and the changes that they have made are not popular, banning flash, banning all other languages, except obj c, banning any api that is not apple approved, banning this, banning that…

The result is that you have a banned iPad.

So if you really want to see what is going on in the real world, dont look for apps in the app store because there are few that are actually developed for the iPad.

I know they say that there are thousands, but that is not true allegedly there are fewer than 2500.

Why is that? Well for one thing, many thousands of developers have quit Apple, after the over reaching and perhaps even allegedly illegal, terms and conditions of development, many thousands of developers have the feeling that they have been insulted and beaten by Apple the big bully on the block.

All because of an Adobe and Apple war, in fact one such group called, RunRev.com was damaged so badly that they may not survive.

Because they put their faith in Apple, and they lost millions of dollars, they lost.

So, perhaps they are selling lots of iPads, but if you want the really best apps, you may have to go somewhere else to get them.

Apple in violation of FTC guides?

Could Apple be violating some aspects of the new truth in advertising guides that the FTC published over the last few months dealing mostly with deception in advertising and also dealing with misleading data online.

In a very controversial decision to title what is apparently not a professional application as a pro app, could apple be in violation of deception in online advertising?

Depending on who you ask the answer to that question may vary however it might be something for the justice department to have a look at simply because of some very bad press that the apple app store has received and is currently hidden from view where as other apps allegedly have a rating, the most recent and very unpopular (allegedly) final cut pro X has received a lot of negative press however those ratings are no longer visible at this time.

The text of the ratings are visible however the over all rating is not visible, is this a violation and should the justice department investigate apple for deceptive advertising?

Perhaps not, however if users are not able to benefit from the system of ratings as all other users are able that itself is something to consider and it is a very serious matter, if Apple is selectively editing and changing its own ratings for its own products, that could be a serious criminal violation, (allegedly)

The idea that Apple allegedly might be distorting the ratings of its own software sales is something that people should be made aware and if it is allegedly true then something needs to be done to stop this from happening.

No one is above the law and if Apple is doing this they need to stop it right now.

If consumers rate a product as bad, then everyone should be treated the same, if any other rating in the app store is dependent upon consumers ratings, then for certain we need to have that data available.

Reviews that allegedly are faked could result in serious problems for apple if it turns out that the same IP addresses are being used to submit positive ratings.

Blogging from your ipad yes you can

Update new version available for blogging from your ipad

updating blogs from your ipad is not as hard as you might imagine and in fact there is an app for that, updated code for the ipad and iphone, for wordpress blogging

Distribution of apps

Will apple change its way to doing business to be a more modern and more acceptably competitive model.

In a move that might go a long way toward equalizing the past mistakes apple has made.

Will Apple figure it out in time or will they continue to deny what their competitors are providing to consumers, when consumers said they want flash, they get it, (but not at Apple, why is that?)

I love Apple products but for the last two years, things have begun to change and it is not really good changes, when you look at what is going on in the marketplace and the economy this is not a time to force your antiquated views on the consumer.

Amazon has announced support for an app store, for Andriod, this is not a good thing for apple when will apple learn to loosen up the strict draconian environment that is ruining the apple platform.

Eventually there will be a better distribution channel for apps that run on the ipad and the iphone.

As the market continues to change, the mechanism should adapt to the market, not the market to the mechanism, perhaps apple can find a way to make this work better.

Will Apple adapt to the changing distribution market?

Finding a better way to distribute your apple ipad apps may be what many developers are looking to do.

With the most recent of Apple mistakes hiting the market, some people have activly begun to look for alternate systems of distribution.

Are you searching for an alternative to the app store because you want to distribute an ipad app but cant get apple to even look at you because your allegedly just a small business?

Alternative to the app store, is one of the most searched for things online, by small business and many developers.

If Apple is really as good as they think that they are can they not figure out a way to satisfy the customer base?

With thousands of small business owners who would like to have an ipad or iphone app there would appear to be no real distribution point, this seems like not only an oversight but something that apple has just well plain decided to not address.

Statics are revealing that some 30 to 45 percent of users are jail breaking their devices.

Which would seem to indicate that there is some issue about the apple process of approving and distributing of apps that well is just not meeting the need of not only the development community but also the users themselves.

Now add into the mix small business owners, who would like to be able to provide a method of distributing a small town app for small town business owners, and you have a problem that apple is not prepared to deal with.

An entire market segment has been left out of the equation for apple that seems a little dumb because they are known for their planning but you have to ask is this an oversight? Or is it just something that is just not worth the time for apple to develop a strategy to address the needs of millions of potential customers.

One thing for sure, if apple does not do this someone else will come along and they will do it.

Cydia for one thing is actively defying Apple in fact they plan on competing with the new planned MAC OSX app store that apple plans on unveiling in the new year.

Which will likely provide even more grist for the mill for many developers and small business owners.

It seems as if Apple is intentionally trying to well Piss people off, we have to wonder why that is happening because normally a company tries to keep its customers happy not make them angry enough to jail break a device.

What may happen next is anyone’s guess but one thing for sure is that if you are not prepared to enter the jail broken app market and you are a small business chances are great that apple is not looking out for you or your business.

ipad opportunity

What you can do to take advantage of the coming software update for the ipad device, in fact with iOS 4.3 due out by the end of the month, you could easily say that the opportunity has not even begun yet.

So what came first the ipad or the ipad opportunity.
One might wonder, but for sure the ipad opportunity has yet to be even realized.

Be all you can be, that is what they say, however, one of the most important parts of developing and learning about the iOS the operating system that creates the ipad opportunity, is developing a plan that will work.

Can you still make money using the app store?

Or is there some secret to getting the job done.

The answer is Yes, you can, however, it is not as easy as you may have been led to believe.

Can you really make money creating ipad apps?

We want to provide you with the opportunity to do something special, something that will help you understand how unlimited the world of app creation actually is.

Did you know that the opportunity of a life time could await, you and that with the right kind of knowledge you can discover the truth.

The opportunity is just getting started ipads are changing the way people look at the internet and it is changing the way people look at reading books, Earlier this year, Apple unveiled a new product that took the web by storm.

The product was the iPad, a specialized mobile computing device built around the same successful “App Store” that drives the iPhone and iPod Touch.

ipad users can use built-in “apps” (short for application) to perform tasks such as browsing the internet, composing documents, sending and receiving email, and so on.

  • The real draw for most users, however, is the availability of hundreds of thousands of specialized applications that can be acquired for free or purchased from Apple’s online “App Store”. These apps are the core of the iPhone and iPad user experience, and are as diverse as the end users they’re designed to appeal to.
  • Some apps help users manage their social contacts, look up restaurant reviews, or learn more about the world around them. Others are designed simply to make the iPad emit a farting noise, or create the effect of a glass of beer being chugged. They all have one key element in common, however:
  • They all represent a highly lucrative opportunity for the enterprising developer.
  • More than than they represent a Rush to deliver content. However that rush will not be a short lived fad it will be a sustained delivery of content over many years.

Established Customer Base
Apple’s App Store on the iPhone has proven to be an unqualified success.

  • Since the store’s inception, the concept of the “app” has grown to overtake mobile computing, inspiring the creation of several competing devices and platforms built on the same technology. Despite that, Apple has seen more success and their devices such as the iPhone and iPad still account for the majority of smartphone and mobile computing devices sold in world. The numbers of apps available in the store has grown from just a few hundred in the beginning, to more than a quarter million unique apps that have generated more than 5 billion downloads worldwide.
  • What’s interesting about the iPad, however, is that it seamlessly runs all old iPhone apps. That means that it’s built to easily integrate with the pre-existing App Store that has already proven to be such a success and that attracts such a huge amount of user traffic every day. Users who are coming to the iPad are often already familiarized with the iPhone and the App Store, which means they’re already familiar with, and excited about, the world of apps. In other words, the customer base for selling iPad apps is already in place, even though the device has only been available for a few short months.
  • Many of  those who developed apps early on for the iPhone had to struggle to get the content and distribution method recognized, those who are looking now to develop early content for the iPad will be able to enjoy a wide audience with a built in distribution method that just so happens to be one of the most popular online marketplaces in decades.
