Key pad for the ipad

Fat finger syndrome, is causing a lot of trouble for apple…

With the most recent iOS support for additional configurations on the touch pad might finally work for the rest of us who have large hands, If you have ever tried to use an ipad for any length of time to do any serious tasks you need this.

This is a must have if you are an adult attempting to use the ipad for anything but a game.

At the time I purchased my Ipad, the 80 buck price for a keyboard, which by the way is the same price as the full size keyboard, was daunting, but now apparently, there are some nice after market and some OEM products out there that are nice and affordable, imagine that.

Perhaps you have seen the plug in key pad for the ipad and thought hmmm, you mean I can actually have a full keypad with arrow keys and all, it would almost be as productive as having a real keyboard.

And you would be Right.

While it is a little pricey, it is very nice, to have on a trip where you need to do some quick typing and your sick and tired of the touch interface which is ok if your 12, but not so much if your an actual adult.

The one thing apple needed to supply standard.

Jail breaking your device yes or no?

Should apple get a clue about its restrictive practices in developing services for the ipad ipod, iphone marketplaces?

More users are allegedly jail breaking their devices so that they can get the features and the software that they want, is this wrong, probably, and not for the reasons you may think.

Well the debate rages on, with apple allegedly being the mean bully that appears to try to influence what apps are “right” for the hardware that apple sells to its customers, Oh wait, I thought the customer was buying the hardware, should they not decide what apps they want to put on their iphones or mobile devices?

Well I guess long as those apps are apps that apple also thinks are good enough for the hardware they sell but apparently mother over constantly.

Still one might wonder if an eventual legal battle over what is and what is not allow on hardware owned by customers, since and I repeat apple customers do spend a great deal of money to buy the hardware.

So do the customers not have any rights or any say in what they can put on the devices they buy?

Makes you think, …

Andriod leaps ahead of Apple?

Is apple making a big mistake?

In the most recent release of the ipad2, which might better be titled, a huge marketing mistake, (allegedly)

Android may have an opportunity to move ahead of the more expensive competitor, which insanely has less to offer than its cheaper, counterpart, (allegedly)

So who is right is ipad 2 a bust because of the features that most every other tablet platform do have and apple just allegedly made the decision not to offer the SD slot.

There is also the issue of Flash, which is really not a good idea at all, it is an ego issue, which is why we have elected to not renew our Apple developer agreement.

At least for the time being, until apple demonstrates that they are capable of making sane and unilateral decisions.

So, here we are almost two full years after the first version of the ipad and still there are issues that other platforms do not have.

Clearly either apple has no plans to address these issues or they just do not care.

Either way, one thing remains clear, if something does not change soon, apple will not be in the drivers seat for much longer.

The Life And Times Of The Ipod Battery

We purchased an ipad last year, and so far its battery has performed very nicely in fact it is performing better than the battery in our mac book pro, now go figure on that one.

Usage is one thing that will effect the battery life, for example playing audio consumes much less power than does a video, apparently powering the display is a battery consuming task.

Apple Battery products and how long they last, one of the things that is interesting is how long a battery will last in the apple devices.

When you purchase an iPOD, what do you think about?

Are you imagining what songs you’ll put on it?
Do you think about all the accessories and kits that you’ll get for your iPOD?

Can you picture in your mind all the places you’ll take your iPOD? Of course you’re thinking about all those things. Are you also thinking about the lithium iPOD battery that powers your device, and how it works?

Probably not.

The iPOD is a remarkable device that has changed how people transfer and enjoy music and information, but little is paid attention to what makes an iPOD work. We know how it works, and what it can do, but what enables it to do all those cool things? The answer is a small but powerful lithium iPOD Nano battery.

Lithium iPOD batteries are more powerful than standard nickel-cadmium batteries. Because of this, lithium batteries last longer and don’t require to be charged as regular batteries. This allows you to max-out the times you need to change your iPOD battery. Now, with any form of battery – lithium-ion or otherwise – you will eventually need to purchase an iPOD or to simply replace the iPOD battery itself.

After all, it won’t last forever, but it’s sure close!

A lithium-ion iPOD Nano battery works better for two reasons:

1. Lithium is lighter than nickel
2. Lithium batteries have smart “fast-charge” technology

Let’s focus on point number one. Because lithium-ion is lighter than crystal, which means that your iPOD doesn’t have to work as hard to charge a light material vs. a heavy material. So, your iPOD battery uses less power to fully charge up. That’s good for you, because having lithium iPOD batteries gets your device charged up faster. It also saves you the expense of having to frequently purchase iPOD Nanos.

On the second point, iPOD batteries are smart charging. Now, you can’t use your iPOD Nano battery to help study for a test! Rather, they’re smart because they can tell the charger when they’re almost full. When your iPOD is charging, it charges up to 80% capacity in no time flat. Then, the iPOD battery tells the charger to slow down, so the charging process goes from warp speed to snail’s pace. This ensures that the battery doesn’t overcharge, and makes certain that you’re spending your time with your music, and not spending your cash on iPOD batteries.

With any battery, every time you charge it, it loses a bit of its performance and power. Over time, that battery will die, and after you give it a proper funeral, you’ll have to change it. The same is true with your iPOD. Eventually, you will have to replace the iPOD battery. You can either change the iPOD battery itself or purchase a new iPOD Nano . But, because your iPOD battery is a lithium-ion beast, you won’t need to worry about that for a while!
