How will the new Xcode interface change SMS marketing?

What do you think about text marketing, there is a huge demand for this for small business owners, but how much should the service cost?

Can a business really afford to pay  by the month and in this economy will most business owners really want to take advantage of such an offer?

There are some services that advertise a monthly fee of just 10 bucks and you can advertise to your customers, by just logging onto the internet and simply pasting a quick text message and pressing one button.

What they fail to tell you is that there is usually a hefty “setup fee” of around 250 bucks…

Ouch…

We just found this offer at a whopping 500 bucks per month, now I ask you who is crazy enough to pay that high of a price?

So what do you think about this kind of marketing, will it work, my guess is yes, as long as it is affordable.

If you keep it affordable a business might try it out, but if you try to over charge like the examples above.

No sane business person will put that much money into text marketing.

Benefits.

No business plan is without a benefit, the market of mobile phone users is the largest even larger than the online market in fact many business leaders are planning on this as a business strategy, with an estimated 50 billion cell phone users and growing daily in nations like China and Japan you cannot ignore the opportunity to tap into this market more so if you are a small business.

Examples.

Lets say your a moderately successful pizza business in Atlanta ga, but on certain days of the month say towards the end of the month your sales are just dismal and your operating expenses are higher than your revenue.  You cant just close down and you cant close early because that effects public perception.

Public perception is a large part of any business, if the public perceives that your business is doing poorly, mentally they may assume it is because your product, (pizza) is not as good as your competitor, so closing down early is a huge mistake.

However traditional advertising is really expensive and the results have not been as good as what the media would have you  believe.

The days of placing a newspaper ad and filling up your pizza business with customers is almost over, it is just not effective enough to justify the money, sadly the new print media have not figured this out yet, they have not adjusted to this new world that we live in and in many cases the prices for their meager services have doubled in recent years.

Want to know some cool stuff?

This market is just in its infancy, in fact, you could say it is so brand new that there are few outlets, and even fewer places where you can get real content without having to watch a commercial.

Over the last few months, the mobile market has really taken off and in many ways, the market is still fresh.

You can find some content, however for the most part, the mobile content market is so young that you cannot find

much in the way of content that is free of advertising…

Now this is interesting, and with an estimated 50 Billion users, texting around the world, it is something that anyone can do yes, even

a cave man can do it.

Content On The Go

Rolling Rolling rolling.

We are on the move, non stop in many larger cities, across the US.

America is moving way too fast these days, it seems as if we have time to do everything but what is really important in our lives.

We eat on the run, we eat driving down the road, we are in a hurry everywhere we go.

Busy Busy Busy.

Everyone is so busy, going here and there and everywhere.

America is busy, so busy that we just do not have time to sit down and read a book.

What can you do in this busy world today?   You can learn to recycle your time…

Learning and reading on the go, it is often the only time we have that is not completely scheduled in advance.

Did you know that you could get a college degree in your spare time while your waiting?

Mobile content, Mobile Audio, Video, PDF, Software, Apps..

These days, there is just not enough time in the day to get the job done, and with the average wait time, at even a restaurant, very often you find that you end up so tired at the end of the day that all you feel like doing is going to bed.

Did you know that the average person, wastes 2 to 3 hours a day waiting…

Waiting in line, waiting at the pharmacy, waiting around, in lines, doing nothing…

This is now a thing of the past, with mobile content, you do not have to travel alone anymore, on long trips, even just riding to work, with a friend, on a business trip, in an airplane, you do not have to travel alone ever again.

Imagine, having to wait at the doctors office, and before you know it, they call your name and your irritated, that you have to put up your electronic book, well it can be that easy, reading and keeping up with the real news, instead of having to deal with those old moldy magazines…

Now that is worth a lot.

Reading Mobile Content

What do you read?   Books or do you read your news on the computer, or perhaps you like to watch video.

What do you like the most about being able to pick and choose what you want to do?

Where do you read the most?

Books, Fiction, NonFiction, Technical?

Or do you prefer Video or Audio?

Where do you read the most?

In bed, or while you are going about your business?

Where do you read your mobile content, on the go or when your resting or when you just happen to have some spare time?

What kind of content would you most likely be interested in, if say you were sitting at a doctors office, or on an airplane, where you could not get internet?

Mobile content; is it the next great unexplored territory?

Content is something that everyone really needs, I know that so very often you have to wait, just about everywhere you go these days, from the doctors office, to just about everywhere, you even have to wait to be seated at your favorite restaurant, sometimes for up to 45 min, what do you do,  just talk and visit while your standing around.

Well, perhaps not so much…

Now you can go online with your mobile device and perhaps get caught up on that article that you have been meaning to read, or perhaps you could improve your technical skills, did you know that people that regularly invest in their education and professionals that invest in their continuing education are likely to be paid more money over the life span of their careers?

This is not only possible but highly preferable.

With layoffs and rumors of corporate jobs going the way of the dodo bird, you have to keep your edge and one of the best ways to do that is to stay up on current events and more importantly, staying up on what kinds of technology can help improve your performance.

Knowing what you can and cannot do in your job can mean a huge difference in how marketable you become in the corporate world which no one needs to be reminded is not as green as everyone had always hoped it would be.

The idea that you can coast is just not going to get it, so don’t become a statistic, and definitely don’t find yourself waiting in the unemployment line.

Mobile Media

There are discussions going on right now among developers about the mobile revolution, in fact it appears at least for now that mobile communications, are in fact more prevalent, than its stationary counterpart.

What will the next big thing be?

Is this the next generation of the media, will people get their news from mobile sources rather than stationary sources like the TV, are we looking at a brave new world?

What is the number one, most used media form for mobile media?  is is Video? or is it Audio?

You might be surprised to learn that it is in fact, Audio…

Video and Audio for the on the go crowd, is very popular, but what does  this mean to you?

Mobile content, is it the hottest new trend?

Some say yes and they are working hard to get content that is both fresh and friendly to as many devices as possible.

The iPad is one of the fastest growing user groups in history, with a rumored, 3.9 million sold and counting, the number of iPad users is growing faster than they can make them.

In fact, there is an entire industry dedicated to breaking into these devices, mostly I think to thwart, Steve Jobs, because of all the really great apps that have not been approved.

Because of one thing or another, sometimes it is because of political reasons.

Other times it is for some other reason, which no one knows, so in reality the apple Steve jobs thing is just sort of back fired on little Steve, I say little because he is acting like a child.

And his company will pay the price, so who will develop the next great device that is not tied down by jobs over reaching and perhaps even illegal activity to censor developers.

You have to wonder, there are some great apps out there, but many of them are not approved by apple so if you want a good app in the future you may not be looking at the app store at all you might be looking at breaking or jailbreaking your device.

Many say that nearly 50 percent have already done it, and more plan on doing it, but it really creates the question why do it, at all?

Well for one thing, Apple is not allowing very many apps to be approved, and the changes that they have made are not popular, banning flash, banning all other languages, except obj c, banning any api that is not apple approved, banning this, banning that…

The result is that you have a banned iPad.

So if you really want to see what is going on in the real world, dont look for apps in the app store because there are few that are actually developed for the iPad.

I know they say that there are thousands, but that is not true allegedly there are fewer than 2500.

Why is that? Well for one thing, many thousands of developers have quit Apple, after the over reaching and perhaps even allegedly illegal, terms and conditions of development, many thousands of developers have the feeling that they have been insulted and beaten by Apple the big bully on the block.

All because of an Adobe and Apple war, in fact one such group called, RunRev.com was damaged so badly that they may not survive.

Because they put their faith in Apple, and they lost millions of dollars, they lost.

So, perhaps they are selling lots of iPads, but if you want the really best apps, you may have to go somewhere else to get them.
